Market Growth Continues
The US disposable vape market has surpassed $8 billion in annual revenue, according to new data released by industry research firm ECigIntelligence. Disposables now account for more than 60% of total US vaping revenue, continuing a multi-year trend of category dominance.
The growth is being driven primarily by rechargeable disposable devices with higher puff counts. Models offering 15,000 to 30,000 puffs have become the fastest-growing segment, appealing to heavy users who were previously migrating to pod systems for economic reasons.
Pod System Sales Plateau
In contrast, the pod system category has seen sales plateau after years of steady growth. While pod systems remain popular among experienced vapers, the convenience and improving quality of high-capacity disposables have eroded the category’s value proposition for casual users.
Vaporesso remains the standout brand in the pod segment with its XROS series, but the category as a whole faces headwinds as disposable manufacturers close the gap in flavor quality and battery performance.
